What is Tile Lippage and Why is it Hazardous?
Tile lippage is a condition where the edges of adjacent tiles are not in the same flat plane. It creates an uneven look, but more importantly, it poses a significant tripping hazard in public spaces like shopping malls and hotel lobbies.
With the growing popularity of large-format tiles, vitreous porcelain slabs, and marble tiles, preventing lippage has become a primary challenge for tiling contractors. Standard spacers maintain joint widths but do not align vertical heights.
