Why Anodized Aluminium Rules Modern Architecture

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. Aluminium is ideally suited for anodizing, although other nonferrous metals, such as magnesium and titanium, also can be anodized.

For architectural profiles, particularly tile trims and step nosings, Hitech utilizes high-grade 6063-T6 tempered aluminium. This ensures superior load bearing capabilities, clean extrusion edges, and resistance to scratches in high-traffic commercial environments.

Benefits of Anodizing Profiles:

  • Durability: The anodic oxide structure is part of the metal itself, not just applied to the surface. It will not chip, peel or flake.
  • Color Stability: Exterior anodic coatings provide excellent stability against ultraviolet rays, ensuring finishes like champagne, bronze, and gold do not fade.
  • Low Maintenance: Anodized profiles resist atmospheric corrosion and are easy to clean with mild soaps and water.

When selecting profiles for luxury bathrooms or heavy corridor installations, architects specify anodized silver or titanium finishes to complement contemporary layouts.
